Tuesday

Original artwork is due tomorrow. In math we are dividing by decimals. This is a tough concept for some. Some students may need time to finish their assignment. Homework tonight is 10 sentences using their spelling words. Each sentence needs to be at least 8 words long and capitals and punctuation are a must! Tomorrow we have music and P.E. Have a good night.

Monday

I hope everyone enjoyed the nice long weekend. It appears that winter is quickly approaching. Social Studies country projects are due next Monday, Nov. 1st. Students have been doing research in class, but may need time at home to put the poster together. They have a list of the requirements for this project. Spelling words went home today. They also have a math sheet for homework. This week is Red Ribbon week. Today was red, white, and blue day.

Tuesday - "Put a Cap on Drugs" and "Pack the Place in Pink" Wear your favorite cap or hat and wear pink!
Wednesday - "Life without drugs... no sweat! Wear sweats
Thursday - "Boot out Drugs!" Wear western clothes/ cowboy boots
Friday - "Team Up against Drugs!" Wear something of your favorite sports team.

Pumpkin painting display is also going on this week.

Tuesday

Please ask your student about the show we saw at Alberta Bair Theatre today. It was called "Wired" and it was about cyberbullying. There is no homework today. Remember that school will be dismissed at 12:00 tomorrow and no school on Thursday or Friday. Country posters are due on Monday, November 1st. Enjoy the Fall Break.

No Reading Homework Logs this week. We will take a break from those since next week is a short school week. Tuesday is our field trip to the Alberta Bair. Remember next week students have a half day on Wednesday and no school on Thursday or Friday. Have a great weekend!

Monday

In math today we had a quiz over the first few lessons in Chapter 2. We also started Success Maker today in math. This is a great math computer program that challenges the students at their own individual pace. They will be on Success Maker 3-4 times a week. We took our Unit 7 Spelling pretest today. All of the words have ie or ei in them. They should have taken their list home today to study. There is a Student Council meeting tomorrow after school. October book orders are due on Wednesday. Thursday

Mrs. Miller taught our math class today. She showed us a fun way to build our multiplication table and learn our basic facts. This is an important skill for us to know. No spelling test tomorrow, but our Home Reading Log is due tomorrow. We are working on writing and understanding cause and effect statements. Enjoy the nice evening.

No homework tonight. We worked on rounding decimals in math today. If they did not finish the assignment it is homework. Tomorrow the students will be running the 800 in P.E.

Monday

Welcome back to another week! No spelling test this week, as Lesson 6 is a review lesson. We will be working with the words from the first five lessons. This morning a tree was planted in honor of our sixth grade class. Be sure and ask your student which tree is ours. Homework tonight is a math review sheet.

Friday!

This week just flew by and it is already October! Reading homework calendars went home today. Please be sure that your child is reading each night and reads for 120 minutes for the week. What a great habit to get into! Monday the PTA will be planting a tree in honor of our sixth graders and the new Kindergarten students. We will get to participate in this Monday morning. If you have not sent back your child's midterm, please do so. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this great weather while we have it.
