Monday

What a crazy weather day! A good reminder to always wear a coat if it is cool in the morning. Our week is off to a great start. We had our first Spelling pretest today and the students wrote the words they need to study in their planner. The test is on Friday. We had an assignment on Place Value in Math today. If that was not finished, they took it home for homework. They also had a math review sheet to take home. We still need more cereal boxes or other cardboard. Each student needs two 8 in. x 8 in. squares. Thank you. Have a nice evening!

First Days

We have had a wonderful first three days. Remember that if you have not sent money for the planners, they are $2.00. Students need to try and bring a large empty cereal box to school on Monday. We need the cardboard for a project. We had library today so all students should have a book to read. Be sure and ask your child about the "40 Book Challenge" we are doing. Monday we have Music, so remember to bring instruments. Have a great weekend.

Thursday

Wow! What a hot day. We love recess, but some kids were wishing for snow. I told them to be careful what you wish for, winter will be here soon enough. We had another great day. We took our beginning of the year Spelling test and we put our Math journals together. Planners went home today, please make sure you take a look at these and sign them. Have a great evening.

First Day!

What a wonderful first day of 6th grade! We had fun getting to know each other. We have 27 wonderful students in our class. Students received their planners today, and they cost $2.00. We will be starting a project and I have asked students to bring in a large cereal box if they have them at home. They were very happy to have P.E. on their first day. Looking forward to a great year!

Getting Ready for School!

Where has the time gone? Summer is coming to an end and it's time to get ready for school. I have to admit I am really excited for the first day. I've been working in my classroom and can't wait to meet all of my new 6th graders. We are going to have a fabulous year.
