Tuesday March 31
What a fun day in Science! We finished our Owl Pellet lab and discovered that owls probably eat their prey alive and do not chew it up. We found many different bones in our pellets. We are continuing to read Hatchet and working on our vocabulary. In math we worked with fractions and decimals on a number line. It was a fun and busy day. Homework tonight is Spelling wkst 194 and to finish their math assignment. Don't forget to hand in March Reading Calendars. Have a good night.

Monday, March 30
Happy Monday to you! We cleaned out all of our 3rd quarter work from our binders. We are now ready to start fresh for the 4th quarter. Missing work has become a problem, so we are going to start having some drawings for students who have no missing work. We hope everyone gets their name in this weekly drawing and we want to reward their great efforts. Mark your calendars, Poetry Cafe will be on April 30th from 1:45 - 3:00 p.m. We hope to see lots of parents there.
Mystery Question: What is your favorite poem that you have written this year? Write its title on the sticky note that will be on your desk in the morning.

Pi Week: March 16th -March 20th
We have finished taking our Montcas tests and the kids worked very hard. Next week we will be celebrating Pi Day. You will have to ask your child what that is next week. We will be doing many activities to learn about Pi.
Monday - Discover Pi
Tuesday - Pi Transformations
Wednesday - Design a Pi T-shirt
Thursday - Collect data and make a circle graph of our favorite pies
Friday - We will have our own pie tasting event.
Throughout the week we will have a pi memorizing contest, sing pi songs, and tell pi jokes. Thank you to those who have already volunteered to donate a pie on March 20.
